Image Life

The production process used for these prints creates an image that has a similar life to a normal photograph and they should be handled the same way. This means they should be professionally framed and not be hung in direct sunlight. The satin finish laminate film provides protection from UV light, moisture and fingerprints. Frames do not need glass fronts but would benefit from the extra protection if desired.

Limited edition images are sold supplied with their own CD that includes a browser-enabled tour of the show and a digital copy of the print and its colour print profile to protect your investment.

Mounting and Framing

All prints are laminated with UV protective satin finish, cold laminated film, then mounted on dimensionally

stable 3.0mm Forex board. Framing is optional. Framing can be supplied in a black fine furniture-grade timber. Profile and finish for larger prints over 1.2 m X 1.2 m differs slightly (it has a slight wood grain finish), as a heavier timber is used for better support on larger prints.

Print Sizes

All white (or black), borders shown around the prints are included in the framed sizes. These areas of flat tone contribute to the overall design of the images and should remain. These prints are designed so as not to need masks or inner frame details.

Images that bleed right to the edge are also framed at the edge with no addition of masks.

Cotton Banners

The cloth banners “circling boxes” and “spirals” are printed in solvent-based inks onto a cotton backing and have been “fixed”. As such they are machine washable (coloured

cotton setting) and have an exterior life of 3 years without fading. Interior life span is much greater.

Because I don't actually hold stock apart from those printed out and mounted for an exhibition, materials prices may differ over time.

Please note that prices may not necessarily go up. The printing process itself is technology driven and prices have dropped considerably in the last two years for this kind of service. In that same time, colour quality, ink/dye quality and the mechanical characteristics of laminates have all improved considerably.

Some prints are too big to frame

The print “eye II” in its full sized form is normally supplied as laminated only. To be fully mounted requires a braced 12mm MDF (medium density fibreboard) backing which is edged in black. When mounted, the image goes right up to the edge with no white border as shown in the gallery display.
